Meet the Board

The Board of the Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation works together to serve people with developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers, and the dedicated people who educate and support them.

My father was one of the original board members. I want to continue his legacy with the foundation.

Licensed Clinical Social Work Professional, Retired

With an undergraduate degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University, Mary Michael has spent years dedicating her talents for the betterment of adults and children in less-than-fortunate situations. Whether it be as a court appointed advocate, a human services provider, a case worker or intervention specialist, Mary provided support and solace for those in need during very difficult times.

As a grandchild of Salome and Charles Reymann, the examples of kindness and care of our neighbors clearly resonates with Mary, both in her professional and private life. She has been a consistent volunteer at her children’s schools, her church, and now dedicates her time to her eight grandchildren.

“As I hear my mother’s voice urging me on, I feel motivated to do my part.”

The Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation’s mission is very meaningful to me as an advocate for my sister with special needs.

Retired Pilot, United Parcel Services and United States Air Force

I am honored to continue the proud legacy of the Reymann family through my involvement with the Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation.  Regardless of where I’ve lived, I know that the bond within the family is strong, and the love for each other is great. My grandparents embodied the American dream as immigrants, arriving with little more than a desire to achieve through hard work and sacrifice.  Their example of caring for their family and giving back to their community has had a direct impact on my life and that of my small family.

Tolerance, forgiveness and acceptance for everyone is essential for success

Retirement is not the time to rest on laurels, at least not in Ken’s mind. Impressed with the support that the Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation extended to the Akron Rotary Camp, Rotarian Ken reached out to our board to become involved with our organization.
