Salome’s Heart Lives On
Some people leave behind more than memories. They leave a spirit of love that keeps touching lives for generations. Salome Reymann was one of those people.
Salome’s kindness was simple and genuine. There was always room at her table, a warm welcome at her door and a helping hand for someone in need. To Salome, caring for others wasn’t about how much you had to give. It was about being willing to share what you had.
That spirit of caring became part of the Reymann family and, in time, the inspiration for the Foundation that bears her and Charles’s names.
From One Woman’s Kindness, a Foundation
Salome passed away in 1969. Nearly 60 years after The Charles and Salome Reymann Foundation was established, her memory still guides our work with people with developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers, and the dedicated people who educate and support them.
One woman’s kindness inspired a family. That family’s love inspired a Foundation. Together, we can continue a legacy of caring for generations to come.
